The employment panel session takes place on Friday, September 10, 12:00-1:00 p.m. (CST). Our presenters provide years of Recruiting and Human Resources experience. In a Q & A format, they will prepare students for employment.
As a seasoned HR Leader and OD practitioner, Andrea Sherrill oversees the talent, performance development, compensation, employee relations, and workforce culture-change programs at WKU. She has over 13 years’ of HR experience in the corporate, manufacturing and education sectors, and worked on organizational development and talent sourcing initiatives for a global Tier I automotive supplier prior to joining WKU. Andrea currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Greater Kentucky Higher Education Recruitment Consortium (HERC) and the CUPA-HR Kentucky Chapter, is a graduate of Leadership Bowling Green Class of 2010 and has served on other nonprofit boards including CASA of South Central Kentucky and The Training Consortium of South Central Kentucky. Andrea earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management from WKU, is a Certified DISC® Facilitator and currently holds her PHR and SHRM-CP designations.
Elissa Shuck is a workplace and career life coach. Her corporate career journey includes losing her job 3 times due to corporate re-structure, transitioning industries 4 times, pivoting role direction 6 times and achieving 12 career promotions (including being invited to co-found a start-up). Her coaching practice and courses now help people with the same tools/principles she used to navigate her career. Surviving, thriving and finding a sense of purpose every step of the way.
Jessica Nations is an Indiana native who moved to Bowling Green, KY in pursuit of a degree in Corporate and Organizational Communication & Business Administration. After completing her Bachelor of Arts degree from Western Kentucky University in 2013, Jessica spent 5 years as a human resource generalist before specializing in recruiting. Jessica now leads the Fruit of the Loom, Inc. talent acquisition team as Recruiting Manager and supports the full cycle recruiting process for all departments and levels within the corporate office. Jessica serves on the Southern Kentucky Society of Human Resource Management (SKY-SHRM) board of directors and is passionate about collaborating with industry professionals to bring top diverse talent to the South-Central Kentucky region. Jessica lives in Bowling Green with her husband, Ross, and two sons, Ryder and Beckett. Together they enjoy hiking, camping and rollerblading.
